Real Majority is committed to making government more responsive to the people rather than political parties. That doesn’t mean political parties can’t be allies in that fight.

Ideally, every political party would be tripping over themselves and each other to enact policies that benefit Louisiana as a whole. In reality, they are far too concerned with amassing power to care about policy.

However, it doesn’t have to be this way.

The leadership of the actual party organizations in Louisiana are selected at elections just like state representatives or other elected officials. As political parties across the country have seen their power wane and their party committees atrophy, these positions have increasingly been held by entrenched power brokers. The fact that they are elected, however, means that we can vote them out of office and instead choose new leadership for Louisiana political parties.
